RESPONSIBILITY IN WHAT WE DO

At GAI+LISVA we work with a conscious mind, responsibility and a transparent production. We truly care about the footprints we leave behind.
Being responsible is a constant process and commitment, and we always seek to do better than yesterday. It is a constant journey - each day we are taking small steps to reduce our footprints across our business, while creating a positive, lasting impact on the world.

To make our production and products more transparent, we have developed our own responsibility icons. The more icons a label meets, the more sustainable it is.

Natural fibers

Products with this icon are made in fabrics made from natural fibers. Clothing made from natural fibers has a natural insulation and create a sense of well-being on people wearing clothes made of them. The production and harvest of most of these fibers requires less energy than industrial manufacturing of synthetic ones. The plants they originate from do not emit carbon dioxide; on the contrary, they absorb it. Waste from the harvest and processing of natural fibers can be used in the creation of other composite materials for different industries. Additionally, natural fibers are 100% biodegradable and they close the product life cycle in a sustainable manner.

Handmade

Products with this icon are handmade – often according to ancient techniques typical for regions. Handmade products will always be combined with fair trade.

Individual packaging

Products with this icon are wrapped in either paper bags or paper boxes. The paper bags containing our underwear and the boxes containing our classic styles, are all consciously made from FSC certified paper, which means paper from responsible sources supporting the growth of responsible forest management. Using the FSC paper bags and the paper boxes minimize the use of polybags in packing.

Organic fabric

Products with this icon are made from Organic cotton. Organic cotton is cotton that is produced and certified to organic agricultural standards. Its production sustains the health of soils, ecosystems and people by using natural processes rather than artificial inputs. Importantly organic cotton farming does not allow the use of toxic chemicals or GMOs (genetically modified organisms). Instead, it combines tradition, innovation and science to benefit the shared environment and promote a good quality of life for all involved. Organic cotton provides third party assurance that the organic content in your clothes can be traced back to the source.

Made in Europe

Products with this icon are made in Europe. Producing in Europe ensures that local labour laws and sustainability standards are respected. Proximity is convenient and transport routes are kept short minimizing CO2 emissions and long lead times.

Recycled fabric

Products with this icon are made from recycled fabrics. The raw material is collected. It is then sorted by quality and colour. The colour of the waste defines the colour of the final products. No dyeing is needed. Each quality/colour is mechanically opened back into fibers. Focus on keeping the fiber length as long as possible, for the finest yarn quality.
